Embolisation procedures are performed at the BMI Priory Hospital in Birmingham but initial consultations and scans can be arranged at either of our sites. Most private insurance companies now cover the procedure and for non-insured patients the BMI Priory Hospital offers a competitive all in price. Overseas Patients
The Birmingham Fibroid Clinic is happy to take overseas referrals and can review scans performed in your home country before you travel to ensure you do not have a wasted journey. We can liase with your local doctors and advice can be given on travel and follow up arrangements. NHS Treatment for UK Patients
We regret that we cannot offer uterine artery embolisation treatment on the NHS through the Birmingham Fibroid Clinic. The Birmingham Fibroid Clinic is a private clinic and all NHS enquiries should be made through your general practitioner. The treatment is, however, available on the NHS at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, part of the Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust where our specialists have their NHS base, see Information for GPs. You will need to be referred to Miss Irani or to Dr. Crowe by your NHS general practitioner or gynaecologist and such a referral may be subject to funding agreement by your local NHS Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).
